Hurricane Irma Update - 9/10/17

Good afternoon, 
We continue to monitor the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office updates and know that as of this morning, Hurricane Irma is a category 4 storm with 130 mph winds moving north-northwest at the southern tip of Florida. A hurricane watch and a tropical storm warning are still in effect for Beaufort County. Additionally, a storm surge watch remains in effect in Beaufort County beginning tonight into Monday evening. 

Two storm shelters opened at 9 a.m. this morning in Beaufort County: Bluffton High School at 12 H.E. McCracken Drive in Bluffton, and Battery Creek High School at 1 Blue Dolphin Drive in Beaufort. 

A curfew for Beaufort County's barrier islands went into effect last night and will remain in effect Sunday and Monday nights: 7 p.m. - 7 a.m.
